Lights Camera Action!

I’ve been in front of the camera a few times over the past few weeks and those who know me well will know that posing is not my forte. I am a huge fan of sticking out my tongue to ruin a perfectly good photo but on both these occasions I managed to remain somewhat professional.

First up was a mini shoot for Irish Runner Magazine. I was blissfully unaware at the time that I’d end up on the front cover and had I known I probably would have kept my feet on the ground. As it turns out, leaping in the air is not very hairstyle friendly. However voluminous hair aside I was delighted to get the opportunity to talk about The Great Limerick Run and what a positive event it is for the city. It’s one of my favourite events each year because it focuses not only on fitness and wellbeing, but on community and family too. My fondest memory was in year one, completing my first half marathon, and seeing people lining the streets clapping and spurring you on. It’s now less than three weeks until the big day and the final stages of everyones training prep must be well under way. The May Bank Holiday weekend is always such a great few days in the city and I really cannot wait.

For my second shoot in as many weeks I managed to slip out of my trainers getting dollied up with my Liir ladies for our first VIP Magazine shoot. We were on location in Dublin for the day and for me it was a real blast from the past. My first shoot with the magazine was way back in 2008 after I’d won You’re A Star so getting to have that experience again was incredible. The pictures will be out in the next edition of the magazine along with our first interview as a band. We’ve quite a bit going on right now getting to work with Paddy Casey, recording tracks in some amazing studios and a trip to Sweden in the coming weeks to work with producers there. Lets hope we have a little luck of the Irish on our side.
