Five Healthy Eating Spots In Limerick

Eating out doesn’t have to mean bad food choices. It’s my goal as I get to know and visit different locations – to share some of the healthy food options with you! Today I’ve chosen five cafes in my hometown of Limerick that offer a mean selection of healthy food on their menus. Keep them in mind for your next brunch date, road trip or the next time you have to grab a bite to eat on the go. Here are my five healthy eating spots in Limerick.

1: La Cuchina

With two premises in Limerick – one in Castletroy and one in the city centre – La Cuchina is very accessible.  They do a delicious chicken and goats cheese salad and one of their specials is a healthy whole-wheat pasta and chicken dish. I can never leave without opting for a coffee and a delicious Nut Shed protein or energy ball. A perfect dessert. Mind you – they also have some equally delicious treat options if you fancy a little cheat meal!

2: Canteen

A very cute and super healthy cafe on Mallow Street in the city centre. The good food options are endless. Choose from their mini salads, super-food salads, Veggie wraps, fish wraps, egg pots and lunch boxes! So much variety and guilt free. A perfect stop if you’re a little unprepared for lunchtime. 3: Bubble Tea Paradise Healthy Cafe

Another great option in the city centre. Situated on Rutland St, this little spot offers all day healthy brunch as well as a great variety of salads and healthy wraps and burgers. Fresh juices and smoothies as well as super smoothies are also on the menu and of course their famed Bubble Teas in dozens of flavours.

4: Delish Castletroy

Set just opposite UL in Castletroy, Delish is a perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. I’m a big fan of both their Irish Sushi Wrap and their Nori Veggie Wrap but there are countless delicious options on the menu to choose from. See their full menu online at www.delish.ie

5: Hook And Ladder

I am a big fan of the Corbally cafe but they are also located in the city centre and Castletroy. I usually opt for the Prawns on their signature brown bread (and sauce on the side) and I also adore their raw juices. You can get a full breakdown of their menus at www.hookandladder.ie

Eating on the go is only getting easier with most cafes and foodie spots realising that healthy food options are essential. It’s so refreshing to see all the good food listed on menus throughout Limerick city.
