Recently I was sent out a couple of boxes of the new CLEAN NUTRITION PROTEIN BARS from the lovely guys at DISCOUNT SUPPLEMENTS. Now I’m ALWAYS on the look out for low sugar protein bars because they really are the little treat that gets me through the day. I literally LOVE one with a coffee as a snack mid-morning or mid-afternoon.
The Clean Nutrition bars come in two flavours – Chocolate Chip Cookie and Strawberry Vanilla. Being a chocolatey girl at heart – my clear favourite was the Chocolate Chip Cookie bar. The Clean Nutrition bars have been drawing some comparisons to the Quest Nutrition bars and I totally agree. The only major difference is that these taste a little less sweet – which in my opinion is a good thing – they almost TASTE “cleaner”. The chocolate chip cookie flavour even had those famous “chunks” of chocolate. The Strawberry Vanilla flavour then tastes very like a milkshake. I always think you are either chocolate or strawberry person – so whilst my preference is not for the Strawberry Vanilla flavour – they are still very tasty!
And now for the important nutritional info!!!! Each 65g bar has less than 200 calories, 20g of protein, 6g of fat (less than 1g is saturated) and only 3.1g of carbs. The sugars per serving come in under 3g. A great high protein treat for a clean snack and they go down a treat with a cuppa.
